On Saturday 6th August, riots kicked off in Tottenham, North London, leaving many injured and homeless. Last night the disturbances spread across various parts of London and are now traveling across the UK.

We noticed a few Urban Desi artists tweeting about the series of ongoing lootings in their home town, here’s what some of them had to say:

•    Jay Sean - ‘London town!!!! What is goin on!!! My people pls be safe out there. U know it ain't safe to wonder around those areas rite now. Stay home!!’

•    H Dhami – ‘Every1 in the area's of the riots, please look after urself n ur families... LOVE PEACE’

•    Hard Kaur – ‘Riots in London...its sad’

•    Mumzy Stranger - ‘The UK is unsafe at the moment. To all my fans, friends & family please be extra vigilant & try to stay home until things calm down.’

•    Preeya Kalidas -  ‘The government made severe cuts when they came into power which have left society fall into hard times but burning the city and rioting is NoT THE ANSWER it has made the situation worse .... Sad and scary times.’

•    Sham D – ‘This crappy RIOT has to STOP... Everybody Pray and KEEP SAFE’

•   Kiran  Dhanoa – ‘Wherever you are.... It's best to stay indoors. The riots are spreading & there’s no telling what town is going to be hit next. Stay Safe!!’
